On Thursday, September 22, 2011, the Brad Linde Ensemble will feature alto saxophonist Lee Konitz in a special performance at the Mansion at Strathmore. This concert will feature music arranged for Konitz and a 9-piece chamber ensemble, similar to the "Birth of the Cool" band from the 1949 recordings by Miles Davis. We will be premiering new arrangements of Lee's compositions, music by Gil Evans and Gerry Mulligan, and a new work by pianist and composer Dan Tepfer written specifically for the BLE and Lee. Dan will be at the piano for this performance.
Tickets go on sale Tuesday, July 19 and there is a limited number available due to the intimate size of the historic 100 year old music room. Order now!
